Mrs. Pam Bandermann Director of Federal Programs email Mrs. Bandermann

Mrs. Bandermann has been the Director of Federal Programs for the Woodland district since 2001. Prior to assuming that position, she served as the district’s Grant Coordinator and Gifted Education Facilitator for five years. She has also taught second and fourth grades at Woodland and Leopold. Mrs. Bandermann holds BS and MS degrees, both earned at SEMO.

Mrs. Kim Blackwell Title I Reading Paraprofessional  

Mrs. Blackwell began working at Woodland in 2006. She spent her first seven years employed as the elementary secretary. In 2013, she became part of the Reading team and now works as a Title I Assistant, where she enjoys working with Kindergarten through 3rd grade students. She has a BS in both History and Business Administration from College of the Ozarks. Mrs. Blackwell's husband, Dale, also works at Woodland. They have two children, Baylor and Lucy.

Mrs. Renee Garner Title I Reading Specialist email Mrs. Garner

Mrs. Garner has been teaching at Woodland since August of 2000. She taught 1st grade for 3 years, and 2nd grade for 1 year before becoming a Reading Specialist. Mrs. Garner graduated from SEMO with her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood in 2000. She received her master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Literacy from Mizzou in 2004. She and her husband Chris were married in 2003. Mrs. Garner's hobbies include reading, scrapbooking, and spoiling her nieces and nephews. She enjoys working with students and watching them meet their personal goals.

Mrs. Melanie Lutes Title I Reading Specialist email Mrs. Lutes

Mrs. Melanie Lutes has been teaching at Woodland as the Title I Reading Specialist for grades K-6 since 2002. Mrs. Lutes does Title I push in and pull out classes for grades K-6. She has a BS in Early Childhood Education with an Extension through 6th grade, and a Masters degree in Reading Education, both from SEMO. She is married to Mark Lutes, a Woodland graduate, and their children are Tyler, Paige, and Daniel. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Lutes is also an author of children's books through Guardian Angel Publishing.

Ms Margaret Schlief Math/Technology Instructional Coach  

Ms. Schlief taught for 35 years before retiring in 2013. She began again as the Math/Technology Instructional Coach in 2014. She has three children: Courtney, Maddie, and Cole. Ms. Schlief works with teachers on math strategies, and using technology in the classroom.

Mrs. Melissa Stratton Title I Reading Paraprofessional email Mrs. Stratton

Mrs. Stratton's has worked as a Title I reading assistant for Mrs. Lutes since 2004. She has a four year BS in Child Development degree. A 1994 Woodland graduate, she is married to Jason Stratton, and has a daughter, Chelsea, who is also a Woodland graduate. Mrs. Stratton pushes into the K-3 classrooms in the morning, and has tier reading groups for K-3rd graders in the afternoon.

Mrs. Stacey Van de Ven Title I Reading Specialist email Mrs. Van de Ven

Mrs. Stacey Van de Ven has been with Woodland School District since 2006. Prior to that she taught second grade at Leopold Elementary School. Mrs. Van de Ven received her bachelor's degree in Elem3entary Education from SEMO in 2003, and her Master's Degree in 2008. She is very passionate about her job as a Reading Specialist. She works closely with all 3elementary teachers in order to best help students who struggle with reading. She is very enthusiastic about finding the best ways to teach children how to read. Also, she stays updated with the most recent, researched-based methods when teaching reading. She was married in 2007 and has 3 beautiful, blonde hair, blue-eyed little girls. Her hobbies include photography, cooking, and exercising. It is very important to her to spend time with her family and close friends.

Mrs. Diana Walker Title I Reading Paraprofessional email Mrs. Walker

Mrs. Walker has been working at Woodland as a Title I Reading Teacher's Assistant since 2008.. She spends her days working with students in grades 4-6. She began as a parent volunteer in 2007, tutoring individual students in reading. Mrs. Walker attended high school and college in Cleveland, Ohio. She is married to Jim Walker and has 2 sons, Clay, a 2007 Woodland graduate, and Reed, who will graduate from Woodland in 2016.

Mrs. Linda Whitener Title I Parent Education Coordinator email Mrs. Whitener

Mrs. Whitener taught at Woodland for 32 years before retiring in 2006. She began again in 2007 as the part time Parent Education Coordinator at Woodland. Henry is her husband, and Travis and Lilo are her grown children, all 3 of which are Woodland graduates. Mrs. Whitener updates websites for teachers so that parents can keep up to date, and coordinates parent activities.
