Kolby Ray Maddox was born July 13, 2006. His parents are Claudette and Thomas Cureton. Kolby has two siblings, Madyson and Mallory. Three words Kolby would use to describe himself are funny, athletic, and smart. He is involved in Woodland’s Pep Club and Beta Club. Kolby plays for the Woodland basketball team and participates in Track and Field. Kolby’s favorite teacher is Mr. Boyer because they have formed a good relationship throughout high school. His favorite staff quote by Mr. Boyer is, “I love you guys like you are my own.” Kolby’s favorite high school memory is Weenie Wednesday when his advisory would cook hot dogs. When Kolby was a child, he dreamed of being a Navy Seal. Now, Kolby plans on going to Mississippi State University to study engineering. His advice to underclassmen is, “Having fun is more important than being stressed your entire high school career. Keep grades up but still enjoy it because it flies by.” Kolby is excited to get a fresh start and begin his adult life, but also nervous and sad to leave everything behind. Kolby will miss all the people from high school even the ones he didn’t know. The person with the greatest influence on his life is Mrs. Stegeman because “she has talked and helped me through different things.” Kolby feels his biggest accomplishment was being accepted into Mississippi State.
