Jespn Thomas Evans was born on July 24, 2006, to James and Skylar Evans, and Danielle Day and Mike Arraiz. He has two siblings Jeremiah and Jesse Evans. Jespn’s favorite teachers are Mr. Layton and Mrs. Stegeman because he enjoys talking to them about shared interests like music, books, events, and life. They have always been a huge influence in his life. Jespn’s favorite quotes come from Mr. Layton, who says, “The cardinal is a very fierce bird,” and from Shannon Gaines, “Rebound!” Three words Jespn would use to describe himself are energetic, hungry, and buff. If he could travel anywhere in the world, he would choose Japan because it's beautiful in its urban and rural areas, and there’s so much to do and explore. His favorite high school memories include “The time our band, Apples of The Pine, had a concert and going to prom with Lia.” His most embarrassing high school moment was when he kicked the wall during a game of two-base in PE, sprained his ankle, and had to be wheeled to the nurse’s office while he cried.
After high school, Jespn plans to take the national registry test to become an EMT and then enroll in a two-year nursing program, or he may choose to attend SEMO for nursing. He is involved in FBLA, Pep Club, the track and field team, the cross-country team, and serves as the president of Speech Club. His advice to underclassmen is, “No one thinks you’re cool for being dumb; just get your homework done and be tolerable. You’re here for four years, so enjoy it.” When asked how he feels about graduating, Jespn said, “At first, I was unbothered, but watching the days tick down is starting to worry me; I’m nervous now.” Some things he will miss about high school include socializing, seeing his friends every day, and making memories with everyone. One person who has had a significant influence on him is Weston Roark, whom he admires for his dedication to hard work and who has taught him a lot about becoming the person he is today. Jespn feels his biggest accomplishment this year is being a statewide recognized public speaker for three years (soon to be four).
