Picture of Carrie Long

Carrie Lyn Long was born on August 3, 2006. She is the daughter of Ronnie Long and her stepmother, Jill Long. Carrie has three siblings: Weston Long, Lexie Seiler, and Alaina Seiler. Her favorite teacher is Mr. Layton because “he has always pushed me to be a better student and to step out of my comfort zone.” Carrie's favorite quote from staff comes from Mr. Layton: “Time to take an examination of your knowledge. Don’t forget I’m rooting for you.” She describes herself with three words: emotionally intelligent, loving, and strong. Her favorite school memory is winning the spirit stick during her junior year.

When Carrie was a child, she wanted to become a teacher. After high school, she plans to attend Mineral Area College to earn her RN license. Carrie is involved in the Pep Club, BETA, and FBLA, and she participates in volleyball. Her advice to underclassmen is, “Join as many clubs and sports as possible because your senior year will be here before you know it.” She feels very nervous about her future after graduation and will miss seeing her friends every day. The person who has had the greatest influence on her is her grandpa, who encouraged her to be a better person and to always follow her dreams, no matter what obstacles she faced. Carrie's biggest accomplishment so far is choosing a career path she is excited about for the future and maintaining a job throughout high school.
