Layne Douglas Whitener was born on December 4, 2006, to parents Doug and Kelly Whitener. He has one sibling, Ally Whitener. Layne's favorite teacher is Mrs. Balzer because they always joke with each other. In three words, Layne would describe himself as funny, hardworking, and unique. If he could travel anywhere in the world, he would go to a Jason Aldean concert. Layne's favorite school memory is spending mornings in government class with Hayden, Lane, and Eli. His most embarrassing high school memory is receiving swats from Mr. Kinder.
When Layne was a child, he wanted to be a farmer when he grew up. After high school, he plans to go straight into the workforce. Layne is involved in FFA (Future Farmers of America). His advice to underclassmen is, “It’s not that hard to pass; just turn your work in.” Layne is thankful that graduation is almost here, but he will miss Mrs. Johnson the most about high school. He has been most influenced by his dad because, “He’s always been the person I look up to the most, and I grew up wanting to be just like him.” Layne feels that his biggest accomplishment so far is developing a strong work ethic.
