Darrel Jose Douglas was born on July 23, 2007. His parents are Chris Douglas and Misty Johnson. He has several siblings: Taylor Lukefahr, Rana (Brian) Hall, Christopher Douglas, Kaitlyn Lukefahr, and Dalton (Kya) Douglas. Darrel's favorite teacher is Mrs. Hinkle, who always reassured him that he could achieve success if he applied himself. She took him under her wing, provided support, and ensured he had what he needed to graduate high school. A memorable quote from high school that resonates with him is, “DJ Douglas to the high school office, NOW," spoken by Lauren Gaines. The three words that best describe Darrel are "Here, There, and Everywhere." If he could travel anywhere in the world, it would be to Prague, Germany, because of its beauty.
One of DJ’s favorite school memories is getting his cast off on a Tuesday morning and then going three for three in a baseball game against Meadow Heights that evening. When he was a child, he dreamt of becoming an Army Ranger; now, he aspires to work and raise a family. He is involved in the Pep Club and plays baseball. The best advice he could give to underclassmen is to work hard, respect your parents and teachers, and remember that just because your parents did something doesn't mean you have to—you can break the pattern. DJ feels ready to graduate, but he will miss his teachers and the free food the most. The greatest impact on DJ’s life was made by Pastor Ivan Dowd, who hired him to “clean up” four years ago. He then “adopted” DJ as one of his own and has been mentoring him ever since. Darrel's biggest accomplishment is remaining active in church throughout high school.
