Tessah Leanne Dowd was born on July 2, 2007, to Ross and Saliena Dowd. She has four siblings: Logan, Alyssa, Mason, and Nolyn. Tessah's favorite teacher is Mr. Shrum because “he was the best advisory teacher; he always pushed me to do my best and never hesitated to help me!” Her favorite staff quote comes from Mr. Shrum: “I love you guys as my own.” Three words she would use to describe herself are funny, hardworking, and kind. If Tessah could travel anywhere in the world, it would be to Arizona because “it is gorgeous there; I want to see all the cactuses and the Grand Canyon.” Her favorite school memory is winning the spirit stick during her junior and senior years. Tessah's most embarrassing high school memory occurred when she slapped her brother in the face during lunch because he was throwing food in a girl's hair, causing the entire cafeteria to go silent.
When Tessah was a child, she dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. After high school, Tessah plans to attend Jefferson College to study Veterinary Technology and become a Veterinary Technician. She is involved in several activities, including Beta Club, Pep Club, FCA, Harmony Youth Group, and FFA, where she serves as Vice President. Her advice to underclassmen is, “Enjoy high school. It goes by way faster than you think! Also, trust in the Lord; He will never fail you, and His plans for you are greater than you could ever imagine!” Tessah feels both sad and excited for the new journey ahead and looks forward to discovering what the Lord has in store for her future after graduation. She will miss her friends, teachers, and all the memories made in high school. Tessah’s greatest influence is her mom, as she has always been her supporter, encouraging her to do her best and pursue her goals. Tessah expresses her gratitude with, “I love you, Momma!” She feels her greatest accomplishment so far is fully embracing her senior year while navigating the applications and scholarships, all while trying to enjoy the experience.
