Important Message from Dr. Eftink, Superintendent: Today, the Woodland R-IV School District administration responded to information regarding potential threats to our District made by two students. School personnel acted on this information and immediately took steps necessary to protect students, faculty and staff of the District from a threat of potential harm, including contacting law enforcement and Children’s Division. The students were removed from school, no one was injured and there was no evidence of any weapons found. The District is continuing to work closely with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation and the District will take any further actions that are necessary. The District would like to thank those responsible for making us aware of the potential threat we faced and remind everyone that they should feel comfortable sharing any information that affects the safety of our students, faculty and staff with law enforcement and school officials as soon as they learn of it. Due to the ongoing investigation by law enforcement and juvenile authorities, the District is unable to share any additional information at this time.

Seventh graders listened to a scary reading of Edgar Allen Poe’s “A Telltale Heart” while drawing with highlighters under a creepy glow of a black light. They could retell the entire story even though it’s a difficult text. What a great group of ghouls!--
